Home Sweet Canyon Home!

Boy I love going back to Texas....I get to eat all the great home cooking, and pack on two pounds! LOL! I got to see almost ALL of my friends and I got to see my Daddy! The kiddos got to go with Papa Bright and see all the cows and and their calves...errr...baby mooooos. LOL! They loved it! We did a pseudo birthday celebration for the kiddos..a.k.a...the grandparents showered them with gifts! Thanks guys! And of course there's no way in hell that we could have a nice relaxing vacation! There has to be some sort of family or work drama right??? My cousin Eric had a massive heart attack....and they diagnosed him as brain dead afterwards. I was devastated and so damn worried about the family...I was packing my bags to drive over there and my Mom called....she sounded surprisingly upbeat....While the entire family was saying their goodbye's, he moved his eyes....WHAT? Then Kevin(his brother) said "Eric, if you can hear me....move your eyebrows." And the man moved his eyebrows!!!!!! So needless to say, it's either a miracle or the shittiest doctor's on the face of the planet! He's walking, talking, and getting a gazillion tests run on him...but he's OK!!! Thank you God...... So that put a damper on the vaca, but it ended perfectly!!!! Here are some pics! Til next time!

My daddy came up from Wichita Falls. He seems to be doing better! Just have to get him to a cardiologist. soon. He brought the kiddos gifts too! They are so damn spoiled...lol...singing and dancing teddy bears and keyboards! They had a blast!

and last, but certainly not least....it's GIZMO! or emo....as the kiddos called him! It's Phylis's new puppy and he is a dream with the kiddos! Such a great puppy!

Weigh In Day!!!!

So last Friday (4/10/09), was my weigh in day...and it was no bueno. I went from 251 to 253....I was horribly depressed....and of course wanted to go straight for the food....but amazingly enough, I didn't! I pressed forward and watched my eating really closely, and worked out for at least 35 minutes everyday.
A while back, my lovely hubby decided that we should start doing measurements. Weight is just number. So he took my measurements on March 26th. And after my horrible weigh in, which was April 10th, he decided we should remeasure. So in three weeks, here are the numbers:
I lost 1/4" in my neck, I lost 1/4" in both arms, I gained 1/2" in my chest (imagine that...ugh....) I lost 3 1/2 inches in my waist, I lost 2 inches in my hips, I lost 3/4" in both thighs, and my calves stayed the same! So that was excellent news after that crappy day...LOL

Well, Today is Wednesday, and I had my weigh in.....I was super nervous, but I did great! I had nothing to worry about!!! I went from 253 to 244!!! OMG!!!! That's 9 lbs in 5 days....holy COW! I lowered my BMI 1.3 points...WOW! in 5 days!!! I'm not in the morbidly obese range on the BMI chart anymore..LMAO! I'm just obese now! HA! So hopefully I won't gain it all back when we go back to Texas tomorrow...lol...it's so hard to turn down home cookin!!! We're going to bring our bikes and the in-laws have an elliptical also...so hopefully I can keep my weight loss going! So....to date....I have lost a total of 36 lbs! SWEEEEEEEET! Happy Easter

So it's a bit late...geez...gimme a break...LOL! Original plans were to go to Six Flags...that kinda fell through when Madi projectile vomited across Chance Easter morning...lol...so we stayed home and got to feeling better. Luckily after a few naps, Madi was alright and we were able to do an Easter Egg Hunt!!! No fancy outfits....just us having fun!

This pic is from my stay at home mom's group Easter egg hunt/potluck! Peejay dressed up as the Easter bunny for all the kiddos! God Bless her! Jaxon would not come within 30 feet of the Easter bunny and this is all I got out of Madi...one day...they will love her!

He also dropped a whole bunch of eggs out by the pool, that way the puppies couldn't get to them!

So when you cut your material correctly, you can always have great remnants, and sometimes...when you're super lucky....you can have enough to make something GREAT! I did! LOL! I had some material left over from Emily's little dress, and this is what I got out of it!

Can you believe it???? One of my creations that Madi actually wants to wear! YAY!

Wednesday....

Usually Wednesday's are so boring...it's hump day..and not in that fun way either ;) !! HA! I crack myself up....anywho- I kept myself very busy yesterday! So here are my pics from the day! Ya know...people probably think I walk around with my camera attached to my face....and the truth is.... I DO!!!

First up, Chance went to petsmart to get the puppies their food! And he walked in the door with this funny grin on his face. Apparently petsmart has all their dog toys on sale for 50% off or more! So Chance picked the pups up some stuff....But he was especially proud of this one...LMAO That bone is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!

Trixie and KiKi loooooove it! They are still gnawing on it this morning....lol

Then I have my flowers...oh wow...my flowers....I love the guy at the Farmer's Market that sales these things! His flowers are amazing! He also sells tha bomb kiwis! They are as big as your fist! If you live here, you should definitely go and check him out! I bought these flowers on Saturday morning, and they actually sat in my car ALL DAY on Saturday....then I brought them home and threw them in water with the little food pack...and this pick is from late last night! AMAZING! They will last for another 4-5 days also.....wow!

The flowers are hard to follow....but I have more really cute randomness! I made this dress for Amy's little girl, Emma. It's so damn cute...if I hadn't of totally screwed up the first time around, that's what I get for trying to do something from memory, then Madi and Emma would have matching dresses....dammit.

I had to make sure that it would fit emma right? LMAO!

And finally....at 8:00 last night...I made my Mexican pinwheels. Our potluck got moved up to Thursday, thanks to the storms that are passing through Cali right now....so here's the recipe and some pics!

• 2 pkgs. cream cheese
• pickled sliced jalapenos (to taste)
• 1 large pkg ham lunch meat (I use oscar mayer, smoked ham)
• small amount of jalapeno juice
• 1-2 bunches of green onions (chopped)
• 1 package flour tortillas
• garlic powder (to taste)
• salt and pepper (to taste)

Soften cream cheese, slice onions, chop ham into small pieces, chop jalapenos into small pieces, add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix all together. Add some jalapeno juice and mix some more! Spread onto tortillas and roll'em up! Let these sit in the fridge overnight! Take out and slice the next morning!

If you're worried about the spiciness of it all, then you can buy mild jalapenos. Here are the pics of the messy process....I tripled the recipe!

I'm dieting right now...so all the cream cheese is fat free! and it tastes exactly the same!

This is the ooooey goooey mixture...that's oh sooooo good!

I used four packs of the burrito size mission tortillas. I will cut them up in a few!

All cut up and ready to serve!! I even made Kylie her own little container full....she's going to be so happy!

Tuesday!

I met some close friends up at Magic Mountain on Tuesday! It was so much fun! All the kiddos were pretty much angels...it was insane...I don't think we've ever had that great of a day in public...LOL! The twins are finally figuring out sharing and taking turns. That makes a day at six flags so much easier! Here are a few pics!
